Review of motorola G45 5g

The Moto G45 5G is Motorola's budget-friendly smartphone, offering a balance of performance, design, and features at an accessible price point.

Design and Display

The Moto G45 5G showcases a vegan leather back panel, providing a premium feel and enhanced grip. Available in colors like Viva Magenta, Brilliant Blue, and Brilliant Green, the device measures 162.7 x 74.64 x 8.03mm and weighs 183g. It features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a 720x1600 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the HD+ resolution may not match Full HD displays in clarity, it offers a satisfactory viewing experience for its price segment.

Performance

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, the Moto G45 5G handles daily tasks efficiently. It comes in two variants: 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The device performs well in benchmarks, with scores comparable to competitors like the iQOO Z9x and OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. However, the read and write speeds are slower compared to some rivals, impacting data transfer and app loading times.

Software

Running on Android 14 with Motorola's My UX skin, the Moto G45 5G offers a near-stock Android experience. While it doesn't have system-level bloatware, it does download applications and places promotional app folders on the home screen, which can be manually disabled. Features like Family Space, Moto Unplugged, and Moto Secure enhance usability. Motorola promises an upgrade to Android 15 and two years of security updates.

Cameras

The dual rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel macro lens. In daylight, the primary camera captures decent images, though there's a slight delay in shutter speed. Low-light performance is adequate, but the camera takes a few seconds to process Night Vision shots. The 16-megapixel front camera delivers detailed selfies in good lighting but struggles in low-light conditions.

Battery Life

Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, the Moto G45 5G ensures a full day of moderate use. It supports 20W fast charging, taking approximately 94 minutes to charge from 20% to 100%. While the battery backup is decent, heavy users might need to recharge by the end of the day.

Conclusion

The Moto G45 5G stands out with its premium design, smooth display, reliable performance, and clean software experience. Its camera capabilities and battery life are satisfactory for everyday use. Starting at ₹10,999, it presents a compelling option for those seeking a budget-friendly 5G smartphone.
